Bannor was a member of the original army of 300 Haruchai to invade The Land during the time of High Lord Kevin Landwaster. When the Old Lords declined to make war on the Haruchai lest they be destroyed and instead welcomed them and showed them wonders. The 300, Bannor among them, took an Earthpower-sustained Vow to protect the Lords and formed the Bloodguard.
As a Bloodguard, Bannor lived for more than two thousand years without aging or the comfort of a wife. When Thomas Covenant came to Revelstone, Bannor was assigned to ward him.
After the Bloodguard were corrupted and their Vow broken, Bannor was one of the few to choose not to return to the Haruchai's homeland in the Westron Mountains. Instead, he went to the Plains of Ra to tend the Ranyhyn and live with the Ramen.
