Chapter Seven - Lena
Covenant feels trapped by the realization that people think he is Berek Halfhand incarnate and so needs time alone. Lena leads him to the far side of the Mithil River asking if she should stay or go. Covenant lets her stay, and later, in a fit of Aliantha-amplified rage rapes her, taking her virginity.
