The Queen is a legendary character in the books She was co-ruler of a kingdom whose capital was at Doriendor Corishev and seems to have included parts of The Land. She ruled with love and honor alongside her husband the King, though conflict later arose between them.
Though initially a good ruler, the King became power crazed in his later years and enslaved many of the peoples of the Land. When she could not stop his growing desire for power, the Queen rose up against her husband. Many of the enslaved and those who loved the Land aided her, the chiefest of whom was Berek Halfhand.
Her armies were initially crushed to the point where only Berek himself remained. Berek had a hatred for the grey shadow that had come from the east and caused the King's warriors to grow hateful themselves and fight against the Queen. Berek narrowly escaped death on the slopes of Mount Thunder by the interventon of the Fire Lions; he lived to reassemble the Queen's armies and eventually defeat the King.
The eventual fate of the Queen is unknown. From Fatal Revenant it appears that she was still alive during Berek's final advance towards Doriendor Corishev, but she does not appear to have played a major part in the formation of the Council of Lords.
